To whom it may concern by Hector Cornillot It is an insult and a disrespect to Cuban history to say that when the leaders of the Cuban dictatorship die, Cuba will evolution toward a democracy. It is treason to the internal dissidence in Cuba, to say that they will get eighty million dollars from the U.S. government, to justify that false theory. It is an insult to Cuban history, because only
through an armed struggle can Cuba gain freedom from Castro's dictatorship.
That is the only way to overthrow a dictatorship. There is no other way.
Dictators like Fidel Castro's don't allow free elections, not even allows the
freedom of its citizens to choose. They, the leaders of the dictatorship, tell
the people what to do, what to study, where to work, what to think. Those
who've become dissidents in the island, are few, persecuted, and now, they've
found they can count with the help of the American government. What help?
Well, the announcement that they will receive eighty million dollars, from the
U.S. government which turn them into mercenaries, for money they will never get,
because it is against the law to send it to them. How helpful these American
thinkers are! What can we expect from an exile whose leaders are
American citizens and members of federal/ state governments and owners of
industries? ; and above all, demagogues that only think of how to manipulate for
more votes the dreams of Cubans in exile whom for a lifetime have donated money
and votes to have their homeland returned free, If to be a "Terrorist" is to fight Castro's
dictatorship and his allies, then I am a terrorist. I prefer to die in exile as
a terrorist, and not with my back turned on my country, thinking only how to
find my own well-being in this country.
